Wealdstone Football Club

The news on the 13th Jan 2008 that a number of senior members of the Club had acquired the controlling interest in the lease of the Ruislip Manor Sports & Social Club that operate the 12 acre Grosvenor Vale Sports site means a new chapter in the history of Wealdstone FC was about to begin. As part of this new venture the Football Club have announced a very ambitious plan to raise £60,000 to help meet the cost of running the Club and getting the Grosvenor Vale facilities up to scratch. All members and fans have an opportunity to get involved, be it on the works side or with fundraising over the coming weeks and months.

Ruislip Manor Sports & Social Club - Under New Management

Following the take over of Ruislip Manor Sports & Social Club (RMSSC) by a consortium of investors from Wealdstone FC in January 2008, attention has more recently been focused on making some changes to the running and management structure of the social club facility at Grosvenor Vale.

The success of RMSSC is absolutely vital to the health and future potential of Wealdstone FC and all of the other many users of the facility, including the local community. Investor and Director Paul Rumens said: ' The social club is currently losing money and we need to turn this situation around as quickly as possible so that we can start to maximise the undoubted potential that the site has. We have gone through a period of evaluation and assessment and changes are being made to update the facilties and bring in new ideas. This cannot all be done immediately for obvious financial reasons but we have made a very positive start and we would like to encourage the local Ruislip community to use the facilties as much as possible through hire of the various rooms and bars for a wide variety of events at very reasonable prices'

Ray Kemp has recently been appointed as the new Operations Manager at RMSSC and is being assisted in that role by Tony Short. Ray said: ' There is much to do but I am excited by the potential and I also want to encourage Wealdstone supporters to come down to the Manor during the close season and use the facilities that we have on site and to get a thriving hub going with the locals'.
