Bartlett delighted with
Pre-Season
preparations as more players
sign on
Wealdstone
FC began their pre season training schedule last week at their new
Grosvenor Vale base at Ruislip Manor.
Stones
Boss Gordon Bartlett and the management team were very pleased with
the first sessions which were extremely productive. Bartlett said:
'At our first session we focused on the medical side and conditioning
of the players and it was really useful to be able to use our own
facilities at the Manor. Weight was taken with blood pressures and
fitness assessments and we then held a very positive meeting with the
players to set our expectations for the coming campaign'.
More
players have signed for the club this week. From last season's
squad, key defenders Carl Martin and James Gray have re-signed, as
has powerful striker Ben Alexander who is looking forward to a more
settled season in new surroundings.
The
club has also confirmed that former goalkeeper Luke Woods has signed
from Ware FC where he was the established No 1 and is now the first
choice keeper for the Malta under 21 side making his debut against
Bosnia last year.
Also
coming into the squad is Mark Boyce, 27, an experienced right sided
defender transferring from Uxbridge FC. Boyce, who can also play in
the midfield, has also seen service at Watford, Hayes, Maidenhead,
Hampton & Richmond Borough and Weymouth.
The
club expect to announce further signings as pre season preparations develop.
Wealdstone
will entertain Watford FC in their first home friendly match at
Grosvenor Vale on Wednesday July 23, kick off 7.45pm.

FC have been handed a very tough FA Cup draw announced today (1 July

the FA Trophy Stones have another home draw, this time they are
pitted against Croydon Athletic in the First Round Qualifying - this
tie will take place on Saturday 18 October.

the FA Youth Cup, Stones will travel to Welling United in the
Preliminary stage, ties to take place during week commencing 8 September.
